EXCLUSIVE: INTERVIEW WITH CEO VOUS!

BAGGERMOUTH: Good Evening Wompi
VOUS!: Evening Baggermouth
BAGGERMOUTH: So who is Wompi?

VOUS!: emm
Wompi’s real names are Isikwenu Ewomaoghene Deborah. Although, everyone knows me
as wompi. A 300l ISD student of the University of Benin and last child of a family of
four and the CEO of VOUS!
BAGGERMOUTH: VOUS!
VOUS!: Yes
BAGGERMOUTH: Brilliant brand name.
                                 How did VOUS! come about?
VOUS!: Okay, I wanted a name that really encompasses all the plans I have for my outfit, one that
Isn’t gender sided and one that isn’t English (winks) and isn’t in anyway related to my own
name. That’s how VOUS! came about.

BAGGERMOUTH: Interesting
Not English. So what language is VOUS! then?
VOUS!: VOUS! is French. It is a French word meaning you. Hence it is ‘VOUS!....the real definition’.
More like saying, ‘You....the real definition’.
BAGGERMOUTH: Impressive
So VOUS!, what class of people is VOUS! for?
VOUS!: Well, VOUS! cuts across all classes of people. There is something for everybody irrespective
               Of age and gender
BAGGERMOUTH: Including kids?
VOUS!: Yes
BAGGERMOUTH: Tell me about your inspiration. Where do you get your inspiration from?
VOUS!:Well first from God. Also, I’m a person who loves to observe. I can focus on something and
suddenly get an idea from it. And I also love fashion
BAGGERMOUTH: Would you say spotting a nice couture on a mad woman can give you ideas?
VOUS!: Love to dress up and dress people up
BAGGERMOUTH: I’m guessing you didn’t get the humour in that question
VOUS!: (laughs)
BAGGERMOUTH: oh you did?
VOUS!: Sure
In the midst of nonsence there is sence. There is always good in everything and everybody if
               only we look closely
BAGGERMOUTH: Well said
So in the era of fast growing fashion, make-up enterprise, how do you plan to
                                 stand out?
VOUS!: Well, It’s gonna be by Gods grace, consistency, originality, hardwork, good networking and
publicity, availability and the support of friends and family
BAGGERMOUTH: So tell me, ISD and fashion, how do u plan on combining both? Do you plan on
                                 practicing diplomacy?
VOUS!: (laughs)
               (sings)I don’t wanna go there...
Honestly, I do not plan on practicing
BAGGERMOUTH: uhmm, one of ‘those kids’
V OUS!: I’m more business driven and motivated
BAGGERMOUTH: So It’s all for the certificate?
VOUS!: That’s one way to put it
If I had realised on time, I would have done a business related course
BAGGERMOUTH : Well, you could always get an MBA so business courses Isn’t late at all
VOUS!: hmmm,
We will see how that goes
BAGGERMOUTH: Your parents, what’s their take on your ‘go school, drop certificate for fashion
                                designing’?
VOUS!: (laughs) we haven’t had that little talk yet but I’m certain they would be supportive.
               Fulfilment is all that matters.
BAGGERMOUTH: Quick question. Is Miss Wompi single?
VOUS!: I’m not married o
BAGGERMOUTH: Of cause you shouldn’t be. Behind every successful lady is a Mr Right, so?
VOUS!: (laughs)
Yes, there is a Mr Right
BAGGERMOUTH: ooops! Single brothers, this one is taken.
So, Any word of advice for young aspiring fashion designers like you?
VOUS!: Plenty.
Be you. Hold fast to what you believe in, encourage yourself, love God and be original
BAGGERMOUTH: Well said Miss Wompi
It’s been a wonderful time with you. We wish you all the best in your career and
                                 thank you for your time
VOUS!: Anytime and thank you for having me.
BAGGERMOUTH: The pleasure is ours.
